ORIGIN & TERROIR
A pioneering producer of sustainability in Brazil
Located in the prestigious Cerrado Mineiro region in Brazil, the Daterra farm has been producing coffees recognized for their consistency and quality since 1976. The terroir benefits from an ideal climate for growing Arabica coffee: cool and dry winters, hot and humid summers, and an altitude perfectly suited.
Daterra, which means 'From the earth', is a pioneer in sustainability in Brazil. The country's first farm supported by the Rainforest Alliance, it is today a global reference in environmental and quality innovation.
The farm is particularly recognized for its commitment to carbon neutrality and its responsible farming practices, ensuring coffee that is respectful of nature and producers.
We had the opportunity to meet Fernanda, who explained to us how the founder's letter with the objectives and values is still used today to make their decisions, in particular to allow them to be carbon negative.
